I’m at RailsWayCon2010 and yesterday attended ‘Small is Sexy’ by Nick Sutterer. Besides funny, it was a great little presentation from someone yearning back to components in Rails.I’ve always dug components but I can also see the downsides they have. They entangle everything we’ve learned to untangle (model – view – controller). Yet for some cases you really need everything at once, always. Nick has created Cells and it looks like a fine compromise. Maybe it’s a bit too immature still, but I can see various cases where a Cell would be handy. Nick also let us know that the core team will not be including this idea wholesale, so I guess the plugin will be around for a while.
