I am one of those old-skool web developers who write code using a text editor (vi, not emacs). Still I do appreciate evolutions in my field. And after completely abandoning writing javascript (instead resorting to jQuery or Prototype) I can now completely abandon writing CSS. Enter Blueprint, a CSS framework.
It comes with a beautiful grid which looks a whole lot like a print grid. It has pixel perfection, cross-browser compatibility, nice fonts and usable forms. In short it’s pretty darn perfect. Mmm, can you smell it too? Progress!!
