Canon of Children's TV
I completed a project today: Canon van de Nederlandse Kindertelevisie. aka Canon of Dutch Children’s TV. It lists all children’s TV series since the fifties, and has a place to reminisce and discuss, and of course a place to vote for your favorite series.
This website is done in Rails 2.3 and is the most modern app I’ve built to date. Which isn’t odd since it’s the latest. Anyhow I am quite pleased with the result: only five public-facing controllers and as many resources and models. Quite a slick little thing.
I reverted to Test::Unit for this one like I promised earlier. I gotta say rspec has some major benefits, all things considered. Mocking/stubbing is built in and you can get much closer to the code when you need to. Also, the speccing of views is unparallelled. I think I am going back to rspec for my next project. Yes, I am a believer again.
What is a Canon? From MW:
a collection or list of sacred books accepted as genuine : the formation of the biblical canon.
• the works of a particular author or artist that are recognized as genuine : the Shakespeare canon.
• a list of literary or artistic works considered to be permanently established as being of the highest quality : Hopkins was firmly established in the canon of English poetry.
please take another close look at the readability of your canon site. there is room for improvement regarding digital accessibility. kind dyslectic regards!
Riddles are not helpful. I am not dyslectic, so the site looks perfectly fine to me. Besides, I didn’t write the copy. Please enlighten me?
