I mean, what’s with all the ‘maintenance’?? Hello, it’s 2007?! Why the fuck are you bothering me with your maintenance? Why do you need to take the site down during maintenance at all?
Just check out a new revision, change symlinks and get the show on the road! With a graceful restart no one ever needs to know.
And it’s not that rolling a new version of a web app is difficult or anything. It is done, all over the web, every day. It’s fucking standard procedure even for small shops. God damn you just need to take your site seriously.
It’s infuriating that all my contacts are on myspace. I would just rather never visit that ColdFusion nightmare ever again.

I am sorry man, but you are way way off base with the maintenance. Imagine having 80 million users and you want to change the database structure, add indexes or something. Its not just changing symlinks.
I cant even begin to imagine what complex infrastructure has been grown at that company, and I bet they have painted themselves in corners in so many ways its not funny.
That last statement is probably too true. But anno 2007 it’s quite sad that people still develop web applications in a way that paints them in a corner.

Myspace is not even that crap. Yeah i kind of got bored of it but come on its not like facebook is not just as boring neither. All they are are pages where people you know or stranger can nosey at all your personal details to judge you or whatever.
Tbh i just use myspace for music pagers not to do up my page anymore cus yeah it was good to start of with when i was younger but now its not exactly something i look forward to doing, logging in my myspace page LOL.
