The hate is back

Politics this time.

The hate is back in Dutch politics. Geert ‘Blondie’ Wilders is stirring up the masses with something incomprehensible. The saddest thing is; it’s working. Let me explain.

You see, mister Wilders is demonizing people with two passports. Several politicians have double passports, and Wilders doesn’t like that. You see, it would be fine if these people had Finnish or British passports. But they’re Moroccan!

And since Wilders is anti Moroccan he has found a way to antagonize these people, make them look bad, paste a hate-label on them in order to get them removed from Dutch politics. His argument? “These people are not loyal to our laws.”

Never mind that these people are sworn to Dutch law, that these people grew up here, that these people pay our taxes, buy our groceries, have fruitful relationships (yes! even with Dutch people) and they’re a succesful part of our society. They haven’t even done anything wrong! Wilders just does not like the fact that they have double passports.

In other words: loyalty of people is being debated before they even have shown any signs of disloyalty. How would Wilders feel if he was being tried before he did anything wrong?

I say people who bleach their hair can not be trusted. The peroxide eats at their brains! Therefore I propose we ban the bleaching of hair. It’s unacceptable!

Illogical? For sure, but this is the same argument Wilders is using. Moreover, he is anti something that people cannot change anyway. It’s sickening.

And what’s more sickening is the success this man is having. The Dutch populace loves this man. It’s baffling.
